These are the minimum system requirements for your Edge server.

Operating System

• Debian 5.0 Lenny 32-bit or 64-bit
• Ubuntu 8.0.4.3 Server 32-bit or 64-bit
• CentOS 5.3 32-bit or 64-bit

Disk space

• Minimum 1GB for installation
• At least 100GB recommended to cache client files

RAM

• Minimum 512MB for serving of static Web content, recommended 2GB for improved performance
• For streaming capabilities, the minimum memory requirement is 1GB.

CPU

• Minimum Pentium-4 class processor, recommended Core2Duo class and above
• 64 bit processors are supported

Network

• A public IP is required to use Aflexi
• If you have a firewall, you will need to open these ports:
• Inbound
  • TCP/80 - HTTP delivery
• Outbound
  • TCP/UDP/53 - DNS lookups
  • TCP port 80 - HTTP to origin and Aflexi
  • TCP port 443 - HTTPS to Aflexi
  • TCP port 8080 - Installation script to Aflexi Web Service
  • TCP port 8140 - Puppet to Aflexi
  • UDP port 25826 - Collectd to Aflexi
  • Outbound proxy servers are currently unsupported
